Between raindrops.

I had to share this version of this song with you. The original is peppy and pop-ish. But this live acoustic rendition is completely full of soul and passion. And it was recorded local here in good ol Slc. I do like the original music video. It's full of rainbow over-layers and unicorn-like white horses. So, not bad. But this song has so much power. I can't sleep. So naturally my celly gets my undivided attention. Listen to the lyrics. I can't begin to tell you how i want to feel this way. Love that can't be destroyed. You will Go any distance to find it. Through any trial together. For the one you love. I can't help that I'm a hopeless romantic. It's hard enough putting yourself out there. But pile on the social pressure and expectations on top of my life stack and you might as well blow me over. But love. This love. I would float in the air. Dance on water. Feel the rain on my face. Run through the forest. Touch the sky. And still feel a million times lifted to be there. The place... only song writers sing about. And romantic authors write about. The destination actors can only hope to portray. It's where love meets holiness and pure, honest selflessness. Where no one can break your tie. No one dares. Because it's too perfect. Passion. Heart and soul. Forever. In between the raindrops.
Think about that.

Where is the love?

With all the electronic social disconnect I think it's safe to say we've entirely forgotten how to reconnect with others. It's seems anymore that the only way to get out and date is through apps and websites. People don't even call each other on the phone anymore. It's all texting and emailing. Instant messaging and chatting. I often feel so distant. There is no such thing as dates anymore. Just group activities and "hang outs" as I like to call them. Let's just hang out. It's safer that way. No commitment is good commitment right? Do I have it down correctly?
The game plan: play hard to get.
So these boys hear from their other male friends who say they once dates a bunch of girls and used them and didn't call or text to communicate after for at least 2 days and the girl came begging for more. Guys. Listen. Girls only play those games to protect themselves. No girl wants to wait two days to hear from a guy she likes. It's torture to wait 2 hours but we do. We freak out in our heads for 2 hours until we get tired of waiting, assume the worst, text another guy to forget the game and then in turn start the whole game over with a new guy. But then this happened: A guy I barely know sends me text bombs about the type of girl I am and how he is so sick of dating girls like me etc.
I met this tool online over 2 years ago! And ran into him at the gym a couple weeks ago. I've never been the type to be attracted to such manipulative and controlling jerks! So what was the algorithm that computed us as a match online? And why? Why me?! What did I do in my past life to deserve this treatment? Let's just say I am so not into this. It's all text. Emails. Dick pics. Netflix and chills. Nothing is love. No one is here to fall in love. Nothing organic about a bright blue screen. Where's the reality? It's all just a fake-fraudulent life. Where is the love?
So in the meantime I guess I will be single.
Because I am not going to let them control how I feel about myself.

Eat up!

At least the gym has my heart.

Had a date tonight. Canceled for a not so good reason in my book of excuses. Especially after talking and he wouldn't stop messaging me like all week. Plan B. Workout. The gym. It's always calling me. Always ready for me. 3 are Conveniently located close to me. There's always entertainment. There is always a hot guy or two to oodle over. My trainer is usually there at the times I go so motivation to show off there... So he isn't wasting his time with me. The gym has no excuses why it can't hang with me. Unless of course it's closed. Then I can go to bed anyway. It offers all sorts of variety of activities! I see friends there sometimes. It helps me achieve my goals way better than a man ever did! And best of all...  The gym has my heart.

Hahahah you're welcome.

A poem: What is love anyway?

Ok Warning: cheesiness overload.

I want to be the only one you always hold
The one you dream of even when we're old.
I want to be the girl who short circuits your mind
When I smile and giggle and drive you wild.
I want to hold your hand and kiss your face
In public, in secret.. All over the place.
I want to have your heart and hear your woes
And keep your secrets that no one else knows.
I want to look up at your deep blue eyes
And stand tippy toes just to hug my guy.
I want to get the texts and see the posts
About how you want me, desire me, and love me the most.
I want to share with you your happy and sad
tickle your head and rub your back when your day was bad.
I want a man who says and shows his love and affection
And let's me do the same in return without a shun.
I want to run the crazy race of life together
Then relax and cuddle you during the cold weather.
I want to share my sushi, and ice cream and pizza too
And cook and clean and take care of you.
I want my family to love you like I do
And have your family adore me too.
I want to wake up next to you and hold you for life
Hope someday, say yes to be your wife.
I want to live life to the fullest and be satisfied
That I chose you, you chose me, to share this life.

So sappy Danielle over. I am sitting in the car waiting to meet a friend for lunch. When I think of love... I think of these things. Besides the choice of choosing your love it's important to stay in love. Make the effort to let them know you're here to stay. Better. Worse. Happy. Sad. And all the in between. Happy Tuesday.

Dear boy with the black shirt.

I see you at the gym. Almost weekly. I have to admit you caught my eye. Now words have never been exchanged but I swear the crazy high school chick inside me somewhere has already planned out our wedding and the honeymoon haha! But today you spoke to me. All I could say is "no I'm not using that." I just keep to myself at the gym. But dang you motivate me to kick my own ass a little more just to be able to show off my independent workoutness. But am I brave enough to actually talk to you in person? What if you're already married to the love of your life? I will never know. What if you're watching me sing/dance (my usual) on the elliptical after an intense workout!? Just cuz I like to jam.
But for now. I'll just admire you from afar. Too nervous to say "hello." To shy to ask if you are even single. So for now. I am going to just smile at you at the gym.
Thank you Ellie Goulding for always getting me.

Xoxo, D
