The lives we touch

It's funny how we as human beings live daily without even knowing how we affect another. Whether it be good or bad. Most people in my life have touched my soul in one way or another. The most recent encounter really got to me yesterday. I received the sweetest text from a mom (one of many I adore!) I have been asking "how can I serve my fellow people and stop being so self involved?" I want to be able to give if I can to help another. Whether it be praise or comfort. Being a nurse we try to fix people. It's no offense to those around us. It's in our blood. Our nature. Call it a calling if you will. The one thing I am grateful is for my ability. I can do anything I want. Here I am sitting and dwelling about my lack of family. Lack of awesome husband/boyfriend/pool boy. Lack of money. Lack of wait... No. I have enough chunk haha but seriously. I am totally ready to challenge myself. So something good everyday. One step past my extra mile. It's funny how feeling this way makes me feel. I am more open. More honest with myself. More outgoing. More trusting. More enthusiastic in general. Today I started cleaning out my life. Declutter if you will. Junk food. Stuff in storage. Mind junk. Negative feelings. Wow did the sun just appear and light my way. I may mess up and I may have a bad day. But it's not about perfection. It's about trying. So today. I tried.

Life of broken.

I get asked daily why I am single. I'm pretty and fun and loving. The truth is I'm broken. Damaged. No one wants to play with a broken toy no matter how nice it still looks on the outside. If it doesn't work or has become defective there's really no point in keeping it around to distract you from other working toys. In all honesty I think I'm best single. At least I don't have to let anyone down when they find out I actually don't operate right and just cause ample amounts of frustration and patience. There is such a thing. And people grow out of toys every day. Mostly because they find something better and more exciting to entertain their minds with. When I feel defective like this I push people away. Far away. Build walls and keep ammo for back up. The ammo comes in words and feelings of hurt. Most of all I make sure to self destruct so as to not attract anything that I wouldn't be worthy of a shot at. Just ask any guy I've dated. Ever. It's simple.

Universe says today:

"It's perfectly normal, Danielle, that when waiting for a really big dream to come true it seems like it's taking forever, you wonder if you're doing something wrong, and you feel like you should just be happy with less.

But I promise you, no matter how long it takes, once it happens it'll seem as if time flew, you'll wonder how you ever doubted yourself, and you'll feel like you should have aimed a little higher.

Aim a little higher, Danielle -
