My trip so far.

.
SO this trip I have been lucky enough to be on has been pretty cool so far. We have been enjoying a lot of family company since there is a Category 1 hurricane Irene coming right for us. ON the plus side, I have managed to get a ton of homework done. Yay for being a good student. And since everything is closed, I am not spending money I don't have so... I guess, its all good. But the funny thing about this whole family trip is that I am with my best friends family... not my blood relatives. I love how I can just hang with them like I am one of the gang. haha I swear that I am one of the kids.So all in all, I have had a good time. I still have a ton of reading to do. I have been to a few museums though here and took some really rad picts. But I decided yesterday to wear flip flops because I soaked my Toms in the rain the day before (and again today). My calves and feet hurt today. Flip flops = bad idea. I have no pep tonight. And while I am typing... I am forced to sit in the same room as everyone while they are watching Millionaire Matchmaker. If you haven't seen it or do not have cable with the Bravo channel, consider yourself lucky. ;) hehe click here to see the foolishness

Well according to the weather channel, we need to stay away from windows and high rises. Get indoors now. I love how everyone in the apartment isn't taking this serious. But we will see in the morning. I was considering packing my suitcase and my comp etc in case we had to evacuate the premises but we are so high up in Manhattan that we aren't really at risk for flooding. Dare I knock on wood? EEEEK! OK pics to come soon. Oh and I decided to bring Becky on the trip with us here. We are having the best time! And she fits in my pocket! I know I was a little sad but we have had some really good adventures. I will post those later too.

Good night and good luck my friend.

One positive thing...

There is only one positive thing I can think of off the top of my head about mornings. And that is the sunrise. This is what I saw in my rear view as I was about to enter my apt. So I stopped and took a pic. I know I'm tired and sleep deprived and living off the tail end of my zero carb Rockstar Energy drink I had at 1 am. Hoping I crash in T minus 3 minutes... for seven straight hours.. oh I just thought of something else positive about mornings. Remember I am not a fan whatsoever of morning time. But I am a fan of eggs benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes. I'm so hungry. Tired vs hungry. Who wins. Rock paper scissors. Looks like blogging on my DROID is trumping both. Who am I kidding? I can't have that kind of breakfast. I'm on a diet. Special K or sleep. Meh. Someone volunteer to bring me a breakfast sandwich. Ham egg and cheese please. :) spanks.
night.

Wow. My horoscope is dead on

Read my horoscope if you like. It is so true. I always live in the "what if" past. Its my cross to bear. But after the horoscope comes an update. For all my three readers. My dad, my mom, and some lady from denver . :) teehee
Sagittarius Aug 20 2011 You can't change the past, Sagittarius. You are practical enough to know this, yet you may be obsessing over some event you would love to redo. But if you think carefully about the timeline that followed what occurred way back when, and you study all the changes that happened because of it, you probably would not want to undo it anyway. Sometimes a negative event in our lives translates into something very positive - something that would not have happened otherwise. That's the case now. So get over it and move forward with gratitude. -- Copyright (c) DailyHoroscope.
Oh hello!!! I've been MIA. Yes. Sometimes life gets too busy and I can't muster up the spare time and/or enough sass to write something epic or even just blogworthy... but I do want to update a little.
1. Ok so yesterday I had RN BSN orientation at the U of U. Yes I know... going back to school. It ain't easy but it will be worth it I know. It seems like a pretty cool program and the staff are 100% TEAM STUDENTS. So win-win there.
:) school starts august 22. GO UTES!!!
2. I went to 311 this week. I think this was concert #7 for me. But #2000 for Brandon. He knew every word to every song. Don't tell him but I'm pretty sure he was as giddy as a school girl inside, when I told him we were going and that I won tickets. :D Hehe. It couldn't have been better weather. And.. we got some good loot!!!
3. So update on the NYC trip. Not sure if its gonna be for sure-for sure happening. Some stuff came up and I have to make a decision whether to defer the trip or heed ho. Without my sidekick. She would be disappointed if I didn't go... I know it. That's the last thing I want. So ... decisions, decisions. Do you know how I make decisions usually? Like at a restaurant if I'm torn between two things??  I tell the waiter, "hmm... surprise me." Yeah not sure how that's gonna work.
DELTA LADY: "where you headed miss?"
ME: "Hmmm.. JFK... I think. But I'm not really sure if I should go really. I mean I am torn between these two conflicts. And blah blah class starts like yesterday and I'm sleep deprived. And my bestie this and that. Blah. But NYC is like the adult playland capitol of the US second to Las Vegas. Oh!!!!  Do you think I should go to Vegas instead?? Maybe win some cash money??  And then I can go to new York like whenever. Do you see my conflict?"
DELTA LADY: "um... "
ME: "how bout you just surprise me? " :)
DELTA LADY: "......"
See?  I'm predicting that she won't be much help.
4. So on another note. I've been a very good girl this year Santa. Well actually. Ok so six weeks in PT (personal training) and eating not bad for me foods is actually paying off a little. Yeah I feel pretty darn good about myself most days. Except cheat day. That's the worst day. Hate it. But I love my cute little PT. Hopefully the Draper location opens soon and I can get into a better routine. Yay for jeans too big!!!
5. I know I've said I really like my new job but I really like my new job. For the most part it's just so rewarding. Sometimes babies do scary things to make sure we try harder and think quick. Sometimes they come premature to bring together new friendships. I have had about 4 primary babies/families. I've kept in touch with all of them. I was there when they first needed me. But they have no idea that its me needing them too. When I was young, I loved taking care of kids. I knew that I wanted to do something like that when I grew up. Nursing was the perfect calling in life. To be the one to bring comfort and personality in an otherwise stressful and sad situation. I love my job. And I love that I get the opportunity to help these little kiddos grow strong enough to go home. There's your cheesy cheese for the night. Give me a break it's 4 am and I'm blogging on an empty stomach. :)
Go back to bed, xoxo me

Not a morning person

The past two days have been especially productive starting early in the am. Could be because I am on Day shift rotation @ work... could be because there is a skip in my walk lately??? Or it could be related to the universe punishing me with its closest and most deadliest star... DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN.... THE SUN!!! SO as most of my fam bamly and closest friendsies know, I am NOT a morning person. On my days off... I am SLEEEPING until at least nine or ten AM. Because I never get restful sleep at night. It sucks actually. So yesterday I cleaned at like 8 am and did a ton of laundry etc then got all my errands done by 4:30 pm. Today, probably the same. So here's this mornings reason for the blog. My brain cells were fired up at around 8 am, due to being awakened so I wrote a poem dedicated to the sun and CO-dedicated to my dad who KNOWS I am not a morning person:

    Oh dearest eastern morning sun.
How thoughtful for you to come out to play
Why couldn't you wait to make an appearance
Around hmmm, 10, 11, or noon today?

You see, my bedroom window faces east
And I really would like to sleep,
Because I am so not a morning person, never will be or ever want to be one of those kinds of crazy ass people that thinks its awesome to wake up purposefully at 5 am and start the day off with a cup o' Joe and become immediately productive and still remain chipper throughout the entire day,
    In any sort of way.

*But there is a disclaimer to this poem. I am not asking for winter in any way. I always am grateful for the summer months. In the winter time, I get very Seasonal Depressive and wish for sun and warm. Its funny how we as humans always want what we don't have at that time. I think about it actually every once and a while. The cold chills of winter when I throw on my cute boots and matching hat and bundle up. Or look outside as the snow glistens from the street lights at night and think there is something magical about how water can do that. I love how I can study for tests at coffee shops and drink hot chocolate or pumpkin spice lattes or chai and have no where to rush to. But then the downside of winter, roads are a mess and the icy weather drags on for months and there's never enough light in the day and I long for summer. So as much as I joke about the sunshine, I will miss it tooo much come winter.

SOOOO now that you all are crazy enought to be awake, GO PLAAAAAYYYYYY  OUTSIDE!
xoxo, D

Post game

We lost Soooo badly... fun times though :) but Brandon, the BF did make our only score with a super fly ball and ran his cute little heiny all the way around the bases. I love kickball.
And I love that Becky loves to party. Hehe

:)

Blogging takes too much thought.

I am sorry I have been so lazy lately. Actually I have been working like a buzzillion hours lately but I had yesterday and today off. Whoopie! Well for starters, I registered for fall classes. Uhhhh, like four of them. Yikes. I am still working full time. When am I going to have time to breathe? Oh yeah thats right, never! But on the bright side, I should have my bachelors in nursing and science by december 2012. Yeah thats right! Anyway. yesterday My friend and I decided to go to this zombie attacks downtown slc and this was the best pic I could muster up.
We were probably the most normal zombies out there. Not all gothic zombie or nothin like that all gorry and slathered like Carrie with red corn syrup. Not sure if I will attend next year unless we get a group together or something like that.

So anyway, the summer is coming to a steady halt which makes me so super sad. I told you that I started personal training twice a week right? Kickball season is about over too. :( but by spring time next year I will have a rockin' body. VS here I come! :) My trainer is nice but tough. He knows my limits but pushes me to my point. I can already tell a difference in one month. Besides I am eating healthier too. I am going to get lean and mean and hot in no time. Just have to learn to juggle my time. And I think i need some more incentive, like rewards for when I am doing well and stuff. Ope. Gotta go get ready for kickball. We have to ref the first game and B made a treat. Lucky for us Brandon is coming to watch me play tonight. If he's not careful they might recruit him to play Haha!!! Because we're always short players and could use a lot of help on the field. :)

Miss Stella Grace

She always feels good after a bubble bath!!

Oh I am so tired after my long shift today. I don't think I even peed today once. Oh I am already training bladder to age. I'm so tired I need to go to bed immediately. I'm serious. Well semi serious. I wish I didn't say yes to picking up an extra halfsy shift tomorrow and a full shift Saturday on top of my already full time schedule. Oi I am nuts.
